Welcome to our School
Nestled on the edge of Bridlington, in one of England's most breathtaking coastal regions, Martongate Primary School offers a unique and inspiring learning environment.
With the dramatic coastline and expansive skies as our backdrop, we foster a sense of aspiration and wonder in all our children. We are deeply connected to our local community and believe in harnessing the rich experiences that our unique location provides. We are committed to preparing our children for a future filled with exciting opportunities and challenges.
Martongate Primary School strives for success. We are dedicated to providing a high-quality education, where children are challenged to make rapid and sustained progress through expert teaching and a carefully tailored curriculum. While we are committed to academic excellence, we also recognise the importance of a broad and engaging education.
The arts, physical education, computing, science, humanities, and the development of character are all integral to our curriculum. We believe that a well-rounded education empowers children to face future challenges and seize opportunities, preparing them for careers that may not even exist today. We strive to cultivate critical thinkers, resilient problem-solvers, and collaborative learners. Our curriculum is designed to be relevant, engaging, and to foster a lifelong love of learning.
We believe that parents and carers are essential partners in their children's education. We warmly welcome them into our school community, encouraging their active participation in their children's learning journey. Our open and welcoming atmosphere fosters strong relationships between home and school. While we maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, we also prioritise creating a safe, happy, and well-motivated environment where every child can thrive. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure and supported.
At Martongate, we are all on a continuous learning journey. We are committed to ongoing improvement, both for our children and our highly skilled and experienced staff. We strive to be the best school we can be, dedicated to the success and happiness of every member of our community. Through hard work, collaboration, and a shared belief in our potential, Martongate will go from strength to strength.
Meet the Executive Head
I’m really excited to be starting as the Executive Headteacher at Martongate in April 2025. I believe wholeheartedly that all children can succeed, and that primary schools play a pivotal role in determining life chances of our children. I am committed to ensuring that every pupil at Martongate has the opportunity to succeed. I firmly believe that successful schools do things consistently well, and I am dedicated to working with our talented staff, supportive parents, and wonderful children to build upon the foundations already in place, ensuring Martongate becomes a beacon of excellence for our community.
I believe that children thrive when they are confident and self-motivated, and our school values of Respect, Belief and Courage helps to instil this in our children. Our curriculum is designed to be relevant and stimulating, we encourage pupils to explore their unique talents, and we prioritise creating a healthy, positive atmosphere where strong friendships and positive role models flourish.
I believe in the power of schools to make a difference in a community. I have seen this firsthand in my previous role leading an outstanding school, and working as the school improvement lead across the academy trust. I am committed to working alongside our community to support our school to flourish in the future.
Thank you for your support.
